Commute Bacolod is now Lagaw.ph

Same app, same jeepney routes, same people checking them. Here’s what the new name means for your next ride around Bacolod.

Commute Bacolod has a new name: Lagaw.ph.

If you’ve used Commute Bacolod to find your jeepney, check a fare, or get walked to the right street, nothing about that changes. It’s the same app, with the same routes and the same people keeping them right. Only the name is new.

Why the new name

Lagaw means to roam, to go around, in Hiligaynon and Cebuano. It’s what you do with the app: get around, your way. Commute Bacolod named one city. Lagaw.ph is named for getting around, so it has room to grow with the routes beyond Bacolod.

That doesn’t change where we are today. Our focus is still on making every route in Bacolod, Talisay, Silay and Murcia complete and dependable, and any new city would need the same careful, on-the-ground work before it’s added.

What stays the same

  • Your routes and fares. More than 30 jeepney routes across Bacolod, Talisay, Silay and Murcia, with the fare for every trip worked out before you ride, including 20% off for students, seniors and PWD riders.
  • Step-by-step directions. Where to walk, which signboard to wave down, and where to get off.
  • It works without a signal. The map, places and routes are saved on your phone, so a weak connection won’t leave you guessing.
  • It’s free, with no sign-up. On iPhone, Android, and the web.
  • Your places and trips. Your saved places and trip history stay on your phone, just as before.

What you need to do

Nothing. Keep planning trips the way you do now.

For a little while, you’ll still see Commute Bacolod in a few places while we finish the switch. It’s all the same service.

Haven’t tried it yet?

The Lagaw.ph apps for iPhone and Android are on their way. Until then, you can plan a trip in your browser. Tell it where you’re going, and it shows you which jeepney to ride, what it costs, and every step of the way.

Spot a route or fare that’s wrong? Report it from the app, or email us. Every report makes the next ride better.

Thank you for riding with us, then and now.
